Helping the poor and downtrodden is the basic aim of these organizations. Sivananda Sevashram, Sivananda Vidyalaya and Sivananda Tapovanam are situated in Thoppur village, 13 km away from Madurai. On behalf of Sivananda Tapovanam free monthly medical camps are being conducted for the past many years. Spiritual retreats are also conducted periodically by eminent saints and scholars.
- SIVANANDA VIDYALAYA:
Started in the year of 1978 this school is giving ideal education to the poor village children combining secular education with spirituality, giving importance to character, morality, discipline and patriotism. The children of this school with this sound spiritual background go and transform their parents. The school is now functioning in the Sivananda Sevashram premises.
- SIVANANDA SEVASHRAM:
This is a service oriented organization, situated in a 9-acre plot near the newly formed 4-line National Highway, at Sivanandanagar, Austinpatti Road, Thoppur. This is an ideal place for peaceful living. Pure water is available in plenty. The land is very fertile for gardening and other horticultural activities. Nearby is coming a 400-bed Government hospital with all modern facilities. A high-tech park is taking shape very near the ashram. The ashram is surrounded by numerous villages and there is a vast scope for doing selfless service for the villagers.
- SIVANANDA SATSANG BHAVAN:
This is a spiritual center, situated at the heart of Madurai city at No: 21/70, Pachiamman Padithurai, Madurai-1. catering to the religious and spiritual needs of the surrounding people, weekly Satsang with Ramayana classes on every Thursday (mainly for school children), Lalita Sahasranamam classes on friday and Vishnu Sahasranamam classes on Saturdays and Bhagavad Gita classes on Sundays. Many are highly benefited by these classes.
In the foot steps of Swami Sivananda and his prime disciple Swami Vishnu Devananda who is also known as “ Flying Swamiji”, Sivananda Yoga Kendra was started to spread the message of leading a Blissful life by practising yoga in everyday life.
It is run by Shri A.K.Srinivasan who is the son-in-law of the above said family and his wife Smt. S.Padmasini daughter of R.sundaram and Smt. T.K. Lakshmi who is one of the two sisters and an ardent devotee, who got the direct dharshan of Gurudev Sivananda in the year 1958.
Regular classes, Corporate Trainings and camps are conducted at many places at proper intervals under this banner.
